Apex Generator hire had a client engage us to diagnose why there generator was smokey, using engine oil and was down on power when the load was applied, they feared that the unit was at end off life well before expected engine service life.
Apex generator hire provided a load bank, cable set and assisted the site maintenance team to connect the load bank to the generator. When the test commenced the generator was not running clean and would labour at low load, however as the test progressed the exhaust cleared or smoke and the generator was able to run at its rated name plate. The customer was very happy with the outcome!

Apex Generator hire had a client engage us to complete a site acceptance test a new to them 500kVA standby power generator that they had purchased directly from a seller, the client was seeking reassurance that the generator that they had purchased was fit for service and would perform when needed!
Apex generator hire created and presented a site acceptance testing and commissioning plan to the client which involved mimicking a power outage event, a load bank was crucial for this as they did not want to have business operations affected by the testing and commissioning program. The load bank was used to mimic the installations power consumption.
All was going well until 30 minutes into the test the controller started indicating over temperature alarms, the load was removed immediately and the generator was shutdown. data was collected and the seller attended site to rectify the issue. Post mechanical repairs the generator was subject to the site acceptance testing and commissioning plan and it passed with flying colours.
